I have a brother-in-law who maintains a miniature steam engine, and one day last year he took the thing apart and repainted all the parts and hung them up to dry.
I thing all things mechanical have a unique beauty to them, so I thought I'd try to capture some of that with my limited photography skills and crappy digital camera, with the intent on printing & framing them for some cheap art for said BIL's newly remodeled bedroom.
Anyways, I happened upon these pictures on my hard drive and still liked them, so I thought I'd post them here to give my gallery a little variety!
I overly aggree that machines have an odd beauty to them. I've always loved clocks with exposed gears, it's hypnotising to watch them turn one way and then another over and over again. I think there are more than a small crowd of people that think the same way, or else Steam Punk would never have come into existence.
This is a great photo! I'm a terrible sucker for things like these. Though it might just be me, but this would look striking in straight black and white.

I should have tried B&W! Those gears were painted a bright green. So when I did this, I was thinking about the colors of his room, brown & blue, so I choose sepia. I might actually go back and mess with them again now.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.
